Namrata's journey started organically because chemical free natural dyed textiles inspired her to explore, share her new found passion with everyone willing to know and is consistent in her field of work. She is the founder of Biome Conscious Fashion and Color Ashram, is a spirited Entrepreneur of natural dyes, artist, designer, & part-time thespian. She has received many awards including ethical fashion forum award from UK 2012, has been a speaker at International organic conference, New York and many more.
Namrata is the co-founder of ColorAshram Foundation, an innovative Natural Dye Training and Research Centre. While heading a conscious fashion brand, Biome, she wanted to create awareness about natural dyes. Through colorashram co- founded with Arun, a chemical engineer who has pioneered in several areas of research in natural dyes, she started delivering natural dye workshops.Together they share their innovative process with artisans and industries who want to adopt natural dyes in practice . She also created a conscious consumer base through collaborations with various artists, organisations like Sutra , art spaces like Harrington Centre for Arts, Kolkata etc. She has trained more than 800 people including Design Students, School Children, Artists and Sustainability Enthusiasts. She also convened the first CIND meeting in Coimbatore where all natural dyers from different parts of India gathered to form a body representing natural dyes.
